“Plans For A Second Album
Whilst at Glastonbury, MGMT revealed they have some new material in very basic form and are itching to get back into the studio to record the follow up to their critically acclaimed debut.Their diary is currently filled with touring until December, but the duo were able to give 6 Music a rough idea as to when their second record should be released.Andrew VanWyngarden explained: "We’ve been longing to get in the studio for a while because we got out of it recording our last album about a year ago. So we’re definitely ready to start working on some new stuff but I think in January we’re gonna start recording and hopefully put an album out next summer."As to their process of creating new material, Ben Goldwasser said: "We work better when we sit down in a room and go for it, but we don’t have much time to do that right now."
